MJ Unpacked: "No Fair"
Ah, MJ Unpacked…there’s nothing quite like it. Upon arrival in Atlantic City, no sooner do I enter the Welcome Mixer than does Wendy from the MJ Unpacked team grab me by the hand and lead me to an empty dance floor to kick it to some upbeat 90’s alternative music provided by the house band. Now, everybody at the mixer sees me as the teacher’s pet. No fair!
The next day, I receive high praise when meeting a twentysomething industry player out on the designated smoking platform. I introduce myself as “Dab,” and his kneejerk response is “no fair.”
I also spend some time at private networking events in the hotel suites. One is being put on by SAX LLP (of which TLEHL is currently a client). Upon arrival, they’re having trouble getting the music playing! No fair. Since they know me, they hand me the remote, and I get some chill tunes rolling. Also, the suite has a balcony, but the balcony door is seemingly fused shut and “impossible to open.” No fair! I humbly ask for my own chance to pull the sword from the stone, and lo and behold, with a moderate amount of elbow grease it budges and slides open. The crowd proceeds to enjoy both the music and the balcony.
Another highlight is a literal elevator pitch that leads to coffee with a robotics expert. He proceeds to tell me that TLEHL’s “smart from the start” approach is much more than just a temporary competitive advantage–in fact, it is a sustainable moat, because change management is prohibitively challenging to those who attempt to shoehorn automation into existing manually-driven operations. No fair!
This MJ Unpacked is so, uh, packed with great conversations that I literally lose my voice. I leave a day early with intentions to attend LUXEPACK at the Javits Center in NYC, but without a voice, I’m basically useless and have to skip it. No fair!
